Description:
The festival includes a wagon ride through the park to the tapping area for a tutorial on how maple syrup is extracted. Next, its a stop at the Sugar Shack for a demonstration of the process by which sap is transformed into true maple syrup. While at the festival, enjoy a pancake and sausage breakfast prepared by chamber members and volunteers. Maple syrup can be purchased from the ILDC booth.

The Indian Lake State Park, in conjunction with the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Indian Lake Development Corporation, will be hosting the 24thd annual Maple Syrup Festival on March 21 and 22, 2009. The festival will take place at the Indian Lake State Park Campground located at 13156 North State Route 235, Lakeview.

Festivities will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the sugar bush tours starting at 9 a.m. Tours include a free hay wagon ride through the sugar bush with a stop at the sugar shack. Visitors are encouraged to dress for cold weather! The process of making maple syrup will be explained and demonstrated. Free samples will be given. There will also be a historical display of maple syrup production at the campground.

Entertainment

The Madriver Valley Dulcimer Society will entertain visitors beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. FREE wagon rides through the sugar bush.

Activities

The Indian lake Chamber of Commerce will be serving a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday. The breakfast will be $4 per adult and $2 per child. Pints, quarts and gallons of real maple syrup will be available for sale both days from the Indian Lake Development Corporation.
