Description:

From 35th annual Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest Website:

In 1979, councilman Bill Lowe introduced a resolution in City Council establishing The Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest. The first one was held October 1980.

Oktoberfest was the first festival ever held on the Front Street Mall (now Riverfront Square). It started a tradition of events that includes Rockin on the River, the Irish-American Festival the Italian-American Festival, the Rib Roast and other expositions that attract thousands of people to Cuyahoga Falls from Memorial Day until the end of the season.

In the 34 years of its existence, the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest has raised nearly $1M that has been contributed back to the city in various local charities and services including 3 river tour boats for the Cuyahoga River. Each year, the Oktoberfest Committee has given scholarship grants to at least 4 deserving high school seniors for their college education.
