Description:

From Lithopolis Honeyfest Website:

Celebrate National Honey Month and Lithopolis Honeyfest Day in Ohio in a robust atmosphere of art, music, food, fun and people!

The Lithopolis Honeyfest is a non-profit event with a mission to raise awareness about the importance of the honey bee on the pollination of crops, to increase the consumption of honey and to educate about the science and industry of beekeeping. With the involvement of honey and beekeeping trade associations, we see this event as a component in preserving apiculture, not just in Ohio, but nationwide and globally.

Enjoy two fascinating days of unique attractions - honey bee beards, honey in a variety of flavors, colors and textures; and an array of products direct from the hive. Watch honey being extracted from the comb and observe a state-mandated hive inspection. Meet this year's American Honey Princess, Ohio beekeepers and explore beekeeping equipment hands-on. See a real queen bee and her colony up close behind a glassed-in observation hive.

Enter the Honey Bake-Off and ECOBA Photo Contest. Buzz over to the food court for scrumptious honey-made food and sample mead at the wine tasting tent. Grab a honey brew at the Bloom-Carroll Kiwanis Honey Brown Beer Garden and enjoy a treat from the Honey Bake-Off sale. Listen to fantastic live music on two stages, shop the best of arts & crafts, and watch the kids create their own crafts at the Gilmore Group HER Realtors Busy Beehive.

Before flying back to the hive, pick up some Honeyfest souvenirs! Stingingly stylish one-of-a-kind designed shirts, sweet Taste of Honey cookbooks, and fit-for-a-queen hand-painted glassware!
