The John Simon "Sorghum Festival" is one of the favorite yearly events in Scioto County Ohio each October. John's 5th generation farm entertains thousands of visitors that come to see how farming was done in the 1800's as well as a variety of arts, crafts and see how sorghum molasses is processed from the sorghum cane to the jar.

Bring a lawn chair and listen to musicians play their Appalachian stringed instruments while local artisions make Apple Butter, soap, toys, furniture, wreaths, hand made quilts and wall hangings and of course, Sorghum Molasses.

The festival has been every year for more than 30 years. It is easily accessible from State Rt. 73, State Rt.125 and State Rt. 52. it is a Ohio Century Farm founded in 1864 and located on the Ohio Scenic Byway. Come and enjoy the Southern Ohio heritage and traditions. Items such as canned foods, arts and crafts and Sorghum are for sale so you can take home fond memories of your Scioto County getaway.
