Spend a day learning about Pioneer ways and the Primitive Arts of times gone by. Rob "Armchair" Gerding and associates will be setting up a pioneer camp. Authentic dress and methods will convey "the way it was" on the early frontier. Civil War mock battle and skirmish and cannon demo. Revolutionary War group is also attending this year. Event open to pioneer re-enactors. Try your hand at Atl-atl dart throwing for kids and adults to learn about the methods of the Paleo Hunter. This is a Ohio Atlatl Association listed event with an ISAC contest. OAA members may camp onsite. Flint Knappers to demonstrate the art of arrowhead and knife making. There will be music, entertainers and vendors of pioneer and related wares. The Fort is a unique venue for this type of festival. A big thanks to the many new participants we had in 2013. No admission fee for the general public.
Re-enactors in festival camp free of charge. Participant Appreciation Dinner Saturday evening. Meat provided. Please bring side dish or dessert if you can.
